In the year 1911, a private investigator was commissioned to investigate the disappearance of a man by the name of Howard Hawthorne. The case has been cold for over fifty years, and the trail leads to a mansion house that rests in the darker reaches of the Appalachian mountains just outside the neighboring town of Houndsville.
There have been strange whisperings about the castle that rests off Julie Pine Road, and people wander. What did happen to Howard Hawthorne? People go in, but nobody comes out. Still, there is the burning question that doesn't have an answer within reality. How does the home build itself?
Many legends abound about the house, and the treacherous mountain pass that leads to it's door. Will our investigator find all the answers? Or will he merely become another victim; trapped inside the jaws of the wolf?

Being very eager to get to the bottom of all the town's mysteries, one thing leads to another as discovery after discovery begins to pile up, ranging from random holes in the ground, to suspicious buildings in the middle of the woods. Secret doors, tunnels, and books that talk about nonsense seem like they lead nowhere, with no connections!
