When Revolver Ocelot hijacked Metal Gear RAY, he sunk the United States Marines tanker, the Discovery, that was carrying the nuclear-capable walking death mobile, and the world believed that Solid Snake had gone down with the ship. After his teammate Hal Emmerich, AKA "Otacon", had rescued him, they began the hunt for Ocelot to stop him from using such a disastrous machine.
One year after the tanker incident, the anti-Metal Gear organization that Snake and Otacon work for, Philanthropy, obtained intel that one of Ocelot's biggest financial supporters would be at a remote island near the Bermuda Triangle. The answers they find there will only raise yet more questions.
