Rhian Mistral is the second ruler of the Mistral dynasty, succeeding his brother Rafal after his sudden and untimely death. He lives his life eternally, being blessed by a magical Pen that records the history of the Great Empire. The Pen is revered as a God, especially during Rhian's reign, with dubious origins.
Prince Sophos, the son of the previous emperor and his wife, on the other hand, seems to live life only for himself and for fun. He also appears to be mortal. Unluckily, he also has a valid claim to the throne. A claim that is used to Rhian's disadvantage.
Things start to change for the worse when both Rhian and Sophos do unspeakable things to get their thrones, and when the people start choosing sides and claiming one or the other as the true emperor.
Ultimately, the battle comes between man and Pen, threatening the whole existence of the empire. During this journey, monsters and horrors are encountered, and dangerous secrets are uncovered.
Most characters are Soman Chainani's, with the exception of my OCs.

She/her reader. You are a young journalist from Zaun, working for The Piltover Globe. You witnessed the explosion of Jayce's lab from your friend's apartment. Your redaction board asks you to investigate on the matter, while the Academy tries to hide as much info as possible. But in a way or another, you meet Viktor, and a few things you did not even expect start to unravel. TW anxiety (mild but still)/death/mourning The "Fringes" idea is not mine, it comes from @Berserkitty and their wonderful fanfic "Undercity Development Section" (I'm sure you read it, if you haven't please do, it's fantastic). I imagine Y/N to be around 24/25, same age as Viktor in season 1 but that's purely personal projection, feel free to change that in your head ! Usual thing: English is not my first language and I tried to make the story as accessible as possible. Please, pleaaase tell me if I made any typos, if some sentences do not feel right or anything, I want to make the smoothest experience as possible for you readers. I will be updating the story regularly (at least I'll try, I have a competitive exam next February so...). Rafayel x Sylus (The Chosen One)
As they grew, Rafayel met Sylus, heir of Onychinus. Sylus' affection for Stellie sparked Rafayel's jealousy, leading him to sabotage their bond. This escalated into mistrust, broken friendships (dragging Xavier, Zayne, and Caleb into the conflict), and eventually a war between Lemuria and Onychinus. During one violent turning point, Stellie was nearly killed because of Rafayel's schemes. Enraged, Sylus struck down Rafayel despite Rafayel's hidden love for him. At death's door, Rafayel's heart overflowed with regret. Unconsciously, his evol rewound time itself, pulling him back to the past.
