Jato, the Angel of Death, has grown tired of his regular job. Carrying the dead up to heaven has taken quite a toll on him. He steps out of the shadows and begins resurrecting those who recently passed. News about these miracles gets around fast, and the people praise their God, Dori, for them. This causes Jato to reveal himself and begin performing these resurrections more publicly. People tell Jato about their loved ones and begin praying to him instead. Through a lack of prayers, Dori finds out and summons Jato before him. He wants Jato to stop, but Jato does not understand. For the first time, he refuses to obey Dori's will.
