Azriel had thought his mate was dead for centuries. But when the Spymaster of the Night Court learns that there's a chance that his mate, and his High Lord Rhysand's sister, is alive, he embarks on a journey to find the missing piece of his Court of Dreams. It was time to bring Velaria home.

But her return comes with a looming threat on the horizon for Prythian, as old secrets come to light, old friends become enemies, and old lovers seem to have moved on. Will she ever make up for the lost time?

When everything goes wrong, the pair must question if they will ever get the happiness together that they deserve. Azriel had watched as his court, his family, seemingly found their happy endings. He had already lost his once. He wasn't going to lose her again.

With the fate of their world hanging in the balance, the long-lost lovers are forced to confront the past as they try to forge a new future. After all they've been through, is it finally their turn to be happy?

Eblis survived years of torment in the hands of Hybern, an enemy continent disrupting the peace of Prythian and the Human Realms below it. She suffered things many wouldn't be able to handle, and lived in the shadow of it's king for five fear-filled centuries. When she gets word that the King of Hybern had been killed, she finally found her chance to escape and return to the Night Court, the last home she ever remembered. The Spymaster of the Night Court returns from Hybern as well, with news of an uprising from the newly anointed Queen and Heiresses. Doubtful of Eblis's true loyalties, he continues to watch Eblis in fear that she'll take the family he had and rip it apart. As he goes, he picks up the pieces of her bloody past and puts them together to form the broken Illyrian female. What he finds, what he discovers, what he feels, is forever disrupted. Iraden has lived in Velaris her whole life, in the silvery pools gifted to the Sirens by Rhysand's father, the High Lord before him. It wasn't the only thing she had to thank the High Lords of the Night Court for. For 100 years Iraden and her mother managed to keep her a secret, but what happens when Azriel, the Spymaster of the Night Court, and one of Rhysand's right hands, stumbles into where she works one day, a fast and unusual relationship taking root. Azriel is in desperate need of grounding, having drifted so far away in the past 50 years after the wars that he cannot find his way back. Iraden is in desperate need of freedom after spending her entire life hidden from her true nature, and her father, Rhysand, who is beginning to worry that Nyx isn't taking on the particular glow that the High Lord's heir should take. Will Iraden embrace who she was always meant to be? Will she dare to dream that big?
