Synopsis of Transboundary:

The Earth is ruled by five intelligent life forms.
"The Surfaces" = Humans living on the surface with superior culture but few resources.
"The Subterraneans" = moles that live underground and control volcanic eruptions and earthquakes.
"The Firmaments" = polar hares that have advanced science and technology and live above the clouds.
"The Floats" = sea hares that earn foreign currency at casinos floating on the sea.
Cryptids: Unidentified creatures that control undersea resources.

The five intelligent life forms have made a pact and maintained a superficial peace for several hundred years.
However, in recent years, the struggle for supremacy has intensified under the surface, and the world's equilibrium has begun to collapse.
To prevent further chaos in the world and the outbreak of the "Earth Wars," in which intelligent life forms slaughter each other, the boys and girls of the human surface tribe scramble to prevent rebellion and strife before it happens.

Part 1: "Exemplary Youth
The protagonist, a 15-year-old human named Sarusuberi, is an upwardly mobile and cocky boy. He is a member of the "Surface Alliance," an elite organization that governs the human race, but was abandoned by his parents soon after birth and raised by a poor mole living underground.
Although she believes that a society in which humans and other intelligent life forms get along well with each other is ideal, she is at odds with the upper echelons of the organization, and so she keeps silent.
One day, Hyakkiben is assigned to patrol a remote area with Buddy Daisy, a beautiful and cheerful woman. There, they find a human girl who is illegally harboring a child of a sea lark. Daisy does not hesitate to turn her gun on them, as instructed by the organization, but Hundred Days resembles the family of moles that raised her, and she quickly takes a stand to protect the children.
