What if, in fact, his dad NEVER got trapped in the amber? Instead, Varian left his manor during the blizzard to go for a walk after his argument with Quirin, but disappeared in the process?

For now I intend on leaving it up solely because it is hilarious to me and a good reflection on what was at the time a very important show to me.
