Merciana Sheehan, a beautiful, merciful and skillful woman, had little recollection of her upbringing. Besides knowing that she was from the Underground and that her mother passed when she was young her life was a blur, but after suffering a head injury on the night of her graduation from the Cadet Corps she is plagued with grueling nightmares that she soon realizes are forgotten memories.

Meanwhile, Levi Ackerman, a cold hearted, merciless Section Commander of the Scout Regiment, takes notice of Mercy's skill and resilience. He quickly recognizes a familiarity behind her eyes, and it doesn't take long for him to realize that her familiarity is one of the many skeletons in his closet.

As Merciana and Levi grow closer, their chemistry is undeniable and they find themselves falling for each other, but as her father's will, Levi's past and the truth behind Merciana's hardships come to light they find themselves faced with a difficult situation.

Levi and Merciana never expected their troubled pasts to bring the two together, but what they really didn't expect was for it to tear them apart.
