For many, the life of a young and noble lady in the kingdom of Arlatov is one they'd probably kill for. But Valentina isn't one of those people. Nevertheless, she's been born into such a life, and now she's forced to do things she doesn't want to do out of the duty that comes with the title and power. She didn't ask for it. She was just told to do it. So now she's promised to the most eligible bachelor in the country in order to save her family name and honour. And she's trapped. A prisoner in her own life.
When Misha walks into her life, he turns her metaphorical shackles into real ones. But he doesn't realise that, in the process of making her a prisoner, he has freed her from her cageless prison. She doesn't conform to a life as a pirate's prisoner, but she is also smart enough to see an opportunity in her circumstances.

At least it used to be before she disappeared for a decade. Her mother being a fallen Pirate Lord, her father being a fallen Commodore left her an orphan at the age of 17. That didn't slow her down. She made a name for herself in her ruthlessness, saving no mercy for any gender or rank. Along her life she got herself into a spat with Davy Jones on the seas, interfering with souls he was trying to collect by force. She said it was an imbalance to the natural order but he in turn nearly killed her..Tia Dorma nursed her back to health when she found Jessica washed up on the shores of her island. Her entire crew had been killed and she was left barely alive. So Tia Dorma decided to held her in exchange for her beating heart. Jessica didn't understand at the time, and claimed she had no use for it so she could happily take it. Everyone she ever cared about was dead anyways so what did she need it for? However, Tia said there was much about a human heart that she had yet to lean and she would only give the heart back once it heals and Jessica could "properly utilize it" whatever the hell that meant.. Until then Tia would put a spell on Jessica. She couldn't die until something in Jessica stirred that cold heart of hers..read to see more!
