"Funny how you think you can defeat me."
"Funny how you think I can't."

Keska Lenell has no people, no family and no home. Having been destroyed by the Cruel Ones, beings with unparalleled power and a thirst for blood, Keska knows what it's like to be stripped of everything. Empty, cold and lifeless, there's only one thing which keeps her sane. Vengeance, and she's hell bent on getting it.
Unfortunately, getting revenge turns out to be quite troublesome when you have an incredibly high bounty on your head. Keska is confident in her abilities, having evaded a multitude of hunters already, but a certain bounty hunter with annoyingly pretty eyes is proving to be more difficult to deal with than she had imagined.

Mav Wolfe has worked for the Crest House for as long as he could remember. Sure, working for murderous, godlike people took a toll on his morals, or at least they would if he had any, but they paid handsomely and that was well enough for him.
Known as the best bounty hunter in the west of Pell, Mav has never met a bounty he hasn't turned in. That is, until the hunt for Keska Lenell begins. With a smart mouth and irritatingly attractive smirks, Mav has never been more eager to get the job done. Unfortunately, hunting her down is proving to be more difficult than he had imagined.
Mav quickly learns that his bounty is strong, smart and definitely doesn't like to play nice.

Aries Bristol is a bounty hunter. The best of the best, most terrifying, and she's a woman, frowned upon by all. "Women shouldn't fight," they say, on and on. "Women shouldn't get their hands dirty." "Women are weak." "Women are powerless." "Women are toys, puppets, made to look at and enjoy." They thought they were geniuses. Adding to her misery. She proved them wrong. And she always will. ●●●●● When she is called upon by an Aristocrat, Aries is hired to find a Demhi---a person---a race--- that is immortal. But she knows they don't exist anymore. They didn't die, no, they disappeared. As if they never existed. ...Didn't they? So, of course, she finds this bounty dumb... until she is paid one hundred thousand for the job, enough to sustain her for life... As she goes on her mission, she defeats many people, from drunken thugs to gang leaders. She also gets visons, dreams, and prompting from her Patron goddess, Thana, the goddess of death. As she is fulfilling her job, she meets a man. A very enigmatic figure, one she comes to know as he confronts her and travels alongside her. As they travel together, they bond, becoming good friends...or more. They unveil a path of dark secrets... some connected to their pasts. In the midst of all this, Aries deals with depression, suffering from past traumas, as well as realizing her growing feelings for this man. As the novel escalates, Aries needs to find comfort in her own skin and not to live in the past, as well as differ good from evil. WARNING: Rated mature for suicidal thoughts, self harm (mentioned), and depression. No explicit adult content, though very small mentions of r4p3 (mentioned once, never described, nor pressed).

As long as people believed that there was a division between the Gifted and the non-Gifted, that one was superior to the other, I wasn't done. As long as there were kings on thrones to reinforce the idea that people like Porter and Briar and everyone else I cared about were unworthy of this world, I wasn't done. "And then," I continued, a resolution forming in my mind. "I'm going to destroy those six thrones." ********************************************** Wren Heatherfield has been through hell and back, surviving the deadly trials of the Garner and claiming the title of Garner Champion. However, her fight is far from over, with the real challenges only just beginning. Adjusting to her new life in the Ember Court with her insufferable enemy-turned-friend Kesserian Cinis, Wren is forced to face the truth of how close the six courts of Naturian are to a civil war, with Nox and Wren leading the opposing sides. But the fight for allies she can trust might turn out to be just as hard as her internal fight: coming to terms with her true identity. With the loyalties and beliefs of her past and present self at war with each other, Wren must decide who she is and what she stands for if she has any hope of surviving this upcoming war. Plagued by nightmares and trauma from her time in the Garner, Wren must find a way to keep moving forward. With the weight of a crumbling nation on her shoulders, Wren has one chance to fix the injustices that plague Naturian and achieve her dreams of toppling tyranny, but the alluring power of the throne might prove too intoxicating for even her to resist.
