SHORT STORY
"Can you kiss me?" She whispered. "What?" I gotta make sure i heard that right. "Kiss me, please", her eyes were teary.
I grab her face gently and place my lips on hers. I didn't want it to end. It felt like a weight was lifted off my shoulders, her tense body relaxed as her hands snaked my waist.
"Sweetheart, you're old enough to start your own life, and I realize I can't force you to follow the path you're supposed to take." she said, stepping closer.
" What do you mean? "I frowned, confused.
"You're not conforming to the system, so do your own thing, don't interfere with Louise, and let me guide her." she said, sipping her wine with a smirk.
" You're unbelievable. " I rolled my eyes and headed upstairs.
This family makes me feel nauseous. My mom believes our lives are already scripted, but not this time. I refuse to be her marionette, i am not following the system. I can sense her sinister intentions for Louise; the look in her eyes tells me it's anything but benevolent.
