Nearly a century after the great calamity, mankind has been united against a malady that, when contracted, makes the host go stark-raving mad. Cerebrum Morbus, also known as the mad flu, is so virulent that the only thing standing between the disease and the whole of humanity is a cap that has been designed to protect the prefrontal cortex from deteriorating. When Evelyn is accepted into the neuro-specialist unit, a medical branch specifically designated toward combating the plague, she wonders if she can help to conquer the disease once and for all.
