300,000 years in the future, the plague had made its way everywhere. Safe zones are scattered as they struggle to keep the infected a bay. Creatures rampage well death is the only option for humans. Lapis, or Elyria, is fighting her way through a new world that she slept through. Everything has changed from the lands to the people.

A watcher keeps lonely vigil from within a fortress that has been under siege for hundreds of years, while a soldier dies for the twenty-third time, and dies again while wondering if he is going mad. First started in 2015, this story is at 50k+ words, but was removed when a plotting hiccup was encountered. I now intend to split it into three parts, and this is the complete Part 1.
