Some memories never fade.

I’ve heard that saying too many times to count, and I sure as hell believe it.

One after another that haven’t surfaced my thoughts in years drift into mind with each mile I drive.

My window is down in the time-worn car, allowing crisp night air to nip at my rosy cheeks.  I’m grateful that it’s summer, otherwise I’d be shivering to no end. 

There is nothing ahead of me in the obscure night other than the never ending, straight road and vast emptiness on either side, but soon I approach a sign.

The sign lights up from my headlights as I drive silently, absorbing the familiarity of the street.  The nostalgia causes my heart to ache brutally.  This is the place that saved my life.  This is the place that changed me.
            
This is the place where he changed me.
           
 And tonight, I’m going to see him again for the first time in 10 years.All Rights Reserved
