A Big Book of Short Stories
A collection of my ideas. While most could have been cared for and nurtured until they grew into fully fledged books, they have only matured halfway, creating a efficient way to get stuck in your head. I'll also post short stories that I may or may not try turning into novels. From "The Kid is Hot Tonight," a story about such topics as high school parties and domestic abuse. To "Just Another Nightmare," a story about a kind of hell you might never have thought of. This collection will likely make you question if something is wrong with me. Spoiler alert; there is. Charles inserts himself into a dating simulator where the main love interest commits suicide. His main objective is to stop the main character from dying, but he continuously fails at this. He starts doing more drastic things as he resets his game save file repeatedly, but the world cannot handle all the tampering he has done. It's only a matter of time before the code itself fails to continue. TW: Suicide, dark themes, heartbreak, and general sadness. Metanote: Suicide, suicidal thoughts, and the lack of consideration for suicide (usually by people joking about it) has been detrimental in my life, and it's taken away a lot of the spirit in me. This story is not meant to glorify suicide, but rather, to show the constant pain that it can leave people with. I am not saying that those who committed suicide are somehow "evil," but I am saying that there are real-world consequences for those who are left behind. When your whole world has changed, what do you do to overcome grief and keep your loved one's memory alive? *** I never knew how much trauma could affect a person until after my older brother died unexpectedly on August 17th, 2021. I came out of the experience as not the Victoria I was used to, but the Victoria who now had a massive hole in her heart. I come from a long line of fighters. My family and I pulled off different strategies to help us move on from such a devastating death, strategies that I am going to share in this book.
