While Mei and the girls leave for summer camp, Kris works a temporary summer job to earn enough money to go to Deathfest, a three-day black metal music festival in Montreal where his favorite band, Nörthfölk, will be performing live. However, a speed bump in his plans is caused by Surtr, the fire giant and ruler of Muspelheim, who has reawakened by Hel, who seeks vengeance on the gods by recreating the apocalyptic event known as Ragnarök. Kris teams up with his friends and others, who discover that they, themselves, are also reincarnations of Norse gods and goddesses.
