Lucy Burling hates funerals, romance movies, and most of the human race. She meets Dylan Burger, the pastors son, days after her father dies. And before she knows it, they've sparked a friendship. Thing's seem to be going great until Dylan's new girlfriend gets in the way. Lucy and Dylan are falling in and out of touch, and soon she's meeting other people, other...boys. The only problem is that forgetting Dylan isn't as easy as Lucy thought it would be, and soon she has to decide between the new and the old. Authors note: This is my first story that I have ever shared publicly! Re-reading it now I realize it wasn't the best. Instead of deleting it, I'm going to take notes on what I could have done better and use that in my future stories!

"Grief knits two hearts in closer bonds than happiness ever can; and common sufferings are far stronger links than common joys" -- Alphonse de Lamartine Lucy's past is blackened with dark memories and mistakes she'd rather forget; some that have split up her already dysfunctional family, some that she has not yet fully comes to terms with and some that she is continuing to make, even now. She turns to guys to fuel her need for love, but only ever for the night. You can't get hurt that way. After her beloved Gram's death, she is wrecked with sadness, pushing her straight into the arms of Ben. He is seemingly perfect and she feels herself falling fast and hard but - she doesn't do love and Ben might not be as perfect as he would first seem....
