After a job provided by Rex goes wrong, the batch discover something about one of their own that they never knew. This infomation soon comes to haunt the batch as the past catches up to a certain marksman who has no choice but to 'disappear' from the universe in order to keep everyone safe but it costs him deeply. At what cost? Well in fact, it impacts the lives of all those around him, not that they know it. The memory of the past is fuzzy to some until a young blood female child takes the shot that ends the war against the ruthless Empire, but not only does happiness come, the past returns and not everyone is happy to discover what has happened. Warnings: Terms of abuse is used (brief attack happens at the very start - almost sexual abuse) Swearing, guns, violence, gore, blood, talk of death, morbid conversations. If you want to read a slow burn about Crosshair, this is for you. It is completely cannon compliant and fun to read if you have seen the first season. It fits into the season as if it was always a part of what was happening. What if Crosshair stays with the empire because he has more there that just being a good soldier to come back to? Written in novel format based on Season 1 of the Bad Batch, this is a platonic romance that dives into the darkness of what Kamino has done to the clones and what the future holds for them after Order 66 and the enactment of War-Mantle. As an author, I enjoy looking deeper at the issues of interpersonal drama woven together with politics. A story about Crosshair and his journey fits that quite nicely. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Story Description: The war was over, but the danger of the future remained. As the Clone War came to a close, Ambassador Alanja Rampart, the sister of Admiral Rampart, is tasked with learning the truth of the dark plans of the Kaminoans.
