Scarlet grew up in the household of her aunt, who marries a fisherman. She wanted to be with her aunt, who was the only family member she had, although for no reason, her aunt didn't allow her do to whatever she wanted- continuing school, meeting new people or even getting someone closer to her.

On the other hand, it was her uncle who supported her-he was constant, and most of the time, he permitted Scarlet to go out and be with a friend with a condition of coming home before sunset.

On those day she was out, she found freedom. It was beautiful to experience things she hadn't, to know people more, to be with someone she eventually fell in love with.

Rumors say she's dating the city's governor-the Montillano, who is known for dominating the whole province which is far different from the truth.

A night of confrontation grew between her and her uncle. "Hindi kita pinaaral para mapunta sa mga Montillano! Walang makikinabang sa'yo, kung hindi ako lang! Naiintindihan mo ba ako, Scarlet?!" a loud scream from her uncle, almost unknown to her. The uncle she had been with for eighteen years had turn into a monster.
