Lost
The experiments unfolded, scattering like fragile shards across the endless islands, their edges softened by time yet never truly lost. Memories unraveled like threads caught in the wind, slipping through grasping fingers, dissolving into nameless tides. And still, one cannot help but wonder-did they ever truly seek to reclaim them? Or were they meant to drift, untethered, between what was and what could have been? In this boundless sea, they remain-specters of something half-remembered, untouched by death, at least for now. But the past is never silent, only sleeping, buried beneath the hush of the waves. Beneath the weight of salt and centuries, echoes stir in the deep, restless and waiting. Forgotten names, forsaken dreams, lingering like footprints in shifting sands, erased and rewritten with each passing storm. Some chase the ghosts of what was, desperate to stitch together a story undone. Others flee, fearing that to remember is to break. Yet no soul can outrun the tide forever. The current pulls, unyielding, toward an inevitable reckoning. And when the sea finally sings their names once more, will they answer? Or will they, too, fade into the whispers of a world that was never meant to remember them? An arcane odyssey fanfiction
