JJ and Billie Maybank had a traumatizing childhood with their abusing dad so they put all their trust, love and care in each other. JJ would do anything to keep Billie safe and that includes everything, she's not allowed near any boys and she can't go home without him following. They only have each other so JJ is overprotective over her and want to give her the best life possible.
If Billie should describe JJ in one word it would be asshole. And if JJ should describe Billie with one word it would probably be annoying little shit, because he says she is hard to describe with just one word. Billie and JJ are literally the same person just in different forms, same issues, same trauma, the same reckless behavior and the same quote they always follow: deny, deny, deny.
