Dismissed

When fiery college professor Terra Alvarez, a newly hired 24-year-old Ethics instructor, walks into her first lecture, the last thing she expects is to clash with a brooding, quiet welding student named Drake Carter. Terra is used to praise-she's smart, driven, and loved by her students. But Drake, 28, wise beyond his textbooks, challenges her authority with silent judgment and sarcastic remarks that leave her flustered and furious. Drake, returning to school after years in the workforce, resents being forced to sit through a required Ethics course he finds unnecessary. Especially one taught by someone he assumes is just another self-righteous academic with no idea how the real world works. But as he watches Terra trip over her nerves while still holding the room in her hands, he can't help but admire her resilience, even if he refuses to admit it. As the semester progresses, so do the sparks-arguments turn into tension, and tension into something harder to ignore. With every late-night office visit and fiery debate, Terra and Drake learn that the line between hate and attraction is razor-thin, and the rules of the classroom might not be enough to keep their hearts in check.
