With the cards dealt
By james a. galgano
No begging borrowed steel.
Emotions cling to slippery eel
Where everything dreamt unsealed
Upon full display perchance reveal
What time and space still conceal
From inquisitive minds captive to feel
In deference to all conscience kneels
No mere genuflection within worn heels
Just mixture of bloodlines congealed.
Thwarting insurmountable power some wield
Within ivory towers all entries sealed
Preventing ability to discern fantasy from real.
While captive in endless spin of inescapable spiel
Convincing what one be concerned with or un-feel.
No longer borrowing or begging time for steel
That was never in life's bargain basement deal.
