Sequel to The Sturniolos' Assistant. After Malia and the Sturniolos were rescued from Santa Lyla, they have been trying to get back to their normal lives. Aside from the occasional nightmares, the bitemark that hasn't fully healed, and the weird in-between state of her relationship with Matt, Malia thought that her encounter with vampires was a thing of the past. But after Jack tells her about a stranger who knew that vampires existed before the island, she knows that there could be more vampires out there. When Malia dreams that the Sturniolos get attacked by vampires on their upcoming trip to Boston, she decides to tag along, and soon learns that her dream is unfolding into reality.
