Hayden Cross knows exactly what he wants. Back from a summer marching DCI, he's craving a well-deserved national win for his band. The Lovell High Marching Knights have been consistently second place in the region since his freshman year, losing by fractions of points to the ever-annoying Merrimack Valley Fightin' Titans. This year they are determined to win, even if it means breaking a few small, insignificant rules. So, Hayden and a few other section leaders sneak into Valley's first home game to spy on their band. It was all going to plan....until they got spotted five minutes in and left Hayden to fend for himself against some really angry Titans. Cameron Miller just wanted a normal year. Fresh off a summer DCI tour with the most annoying percussionist he's ever met, he's ready to enjoy and excel in the Class 1 marching band he loves dearly. He really should have just let the trumpets knock Hayden's lights out. Instead, he dismounted his drum, jumped into Hayden's arms, and kissed him. It was the first thing he thought of, don't blame him! But it was enough to get the band off Hayden's back and gave Valley an in to spy on Lovell, at least according to Cam's brother. But when a fake relationship turns too real, will Cam and Hayden let their fears tear them apart? Or will they find their own true meaning despite their uncertain beginning? Grab your instrument, don't forget your dot sheet, and play like you mean it as romance and rivalry go head to head in the 2022-23 marching season! Warning to readers, "Like You Mean It" contains discussions of transphobia, mental health struggles, and swearing. Read with caution.

**It takes me a second to realize what is happening. Zac is kissing me! He is bloody kissing me!! Something then flashes and I realize Zac just took a picture of us. I push him away and back out of the car. How dare he kisses me and how dare he takes a picture! "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOUR DOING?!!?" I yell at him. He shrugs and hops out the car like this was all a joke. Of course he think its a joke. He is Zac, the most annoying ass hole in the whole universe! "I need to add this to my collection." he says, showing me the picture he just took. I stare at the picture, anger building up inside me. He is so dead!** Katie Stone is your typical good girl and much to her dismay, she just so happens to live with the school player. She hates her life. She really, really hates it. And it's all because of one person: Zac Hansan. Zac is your typical high school heartthrob, who is always flashing his bad boy smile and stealing hearts. Zac loves his life, but not as much as he loves tormenting Katie. But much to Zac's dismay, his insanely good looks and bad boy attitude don't have the slightest effect on Katie. So what happens when these two are connected and dragged into the dark and messy past of their families? It is when this dark secret is revealed that both Katie and Zac are forced to put their differences aside and work together. Their actions will ultimately save their own lives, and they will be forced to make choices they never thought they would have to make. Can two people who hate each other change from being enemies to friends? Or possibly even more? ✕Important Notice: I WILL BE DOING MAJOR EDITING VERY, VERY SOON! KEEP IN MIND THAT THERE WILL BE A LOT OF SPELLING AND GRAMMAR MISTAKES! JUST A HEADS UP! 🎥Story Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zfGef2CyjCo
