[COMPLETED] [THE INTERNSHIP 2013 FAN FICTION]

"It looks better on you anyways."

Leia Wilson was a 21 year old, anxiety ridden, quiet spoken girl. With a 4.3 GPA, being a straight A student from Harvard, Leia had her whole summer mapped out. Three simple steps, should be a fool proof plan.
  1.)Begin the internship at Google
  2.)Win the internship
  3.)Work at Google

And yet, what Leia never expected, was to make friends with two middle aged old school style men, an awkward fast talking team leader, a bright and interesting yet outspoken shy girl, one strange coping method boy, and a blue beanie wearing sarcastic boy. Having to be in a team full of misplaced outcasts, Leia was now certain that her summer wasn't going to be easy. The team was now head on in a heavy competition with fellow Nooglers and now held a new found growing hatred for a stuck up, fake british accent boy. Team Lyle needed all the help they could get. This was certainly not apart of the plan. Nothing could possibly make this even more messier. She expected a few roadblocks in her plan, sure she did. But what Leia never expected in a million years-was to fall in love, especially with a boy so profoundly annoyed with the world.

This Was Going To Be One Hell Of A Summer.

Cover done by the all-time amazing and fabulous @Amelia_collins_. "Maybe one day you'll realize how much you mean to me." One day she had it all. The best friend. The unforgettable memories. The soccer talent. The naive life. But that changed when she went to high school. Enter Leia Meadows. She isn't the brightest girl in school, but that doesn't stop her from pushing herself. She thought freshman year was going to be a blast, with her sophomore friend Annaleigh Rushman by her side. As luck would have it, Leia came into high school without a single friend, Annie having moved on to bigger and better things. But just when she thinks it could get worse, she bumps into Chris "Richie" Richards, a sophomore who just so happens to be one of the most popular kids in school. Cue romantic music. Yup, as cliche as it sounds, Leia falls head over heels in love with Richie, feeling the impulse to write him letters. Despite the trouble she's heading into, she believes that maybe, just maybe, he could be the solution to all of her problems. But, oh, just when Leia thinks she has him, he gets a date. And that's not even the best part. (Note the sarcasm). After a whole year, she thought she had it all under control. She was badly mistaken. Enter...all of the cruel bullies and helpless bystanders. Poor, naive Leia has to go through the next three years being terribly teased, beaten, and harassed by other kids in school. Will she ever make it through high school alive? °°°°°°°°°°°°°°° I'd like to note that this may sound cheesy, and I'm sorry if so. But, please, don't let that stop you from reading. This story is for all those who have ever been bullied, whether it was verbal, physical, cyber, or what have you. I hope you enjoy this book and are able to connect with Leia as a character.

how far would you go . . . for someone you love? ♔ Levi steps forward, placing himself between me and Jack. Like he's protecting me from him. But I don't need protecting, certainly not from Jack. "Who do you think you are, dude?" Levi spits, getting in Jack's face. "Look, Scarlett was just helping me out with a proj-" "I'm not your dude," Jack bites, and I want to tear my hair out of my head. This is going downhill very fast. Jack turns to me. "Scar, we need to talk," he says lowly. Then loud enough for Levi to hear, "So can you please get this kid to leave." "Hey, you don't get to come in here and start ordering her around," Levi says harshly. "You don't control her." "And you think that you do?" Jack spits. ♔ When Scarlett moved off to college, she hoped to start anew and find her way in this world alone. Two problems. One: her older brother goes to the same college, and it seems like he's everywhere, keeping her from doing everything she hoped to do as a college freshman. Two: her brother's devastatingly handsome best friend also seems hell-bent on ruining her college experience . . . but in a different way. Their paths keep crossing, and Scarlett is reminded of the powerful attraction that they've both ignored for far too long. Not to mention, a new face begins to occupy everyday Scarlett's thoughts. When Scarlett is paired with an allusive, darkly handsome stranger for a film project, her world begins to open in ways she never thought possible. But as his mystery unravels into dark secrets, she wonders if she's falling a bit too hard. Before long, Scarlett is forced to realize that balancing the hearts of two boys at once just might result in the breaking of her own.

My hair was stuck to my face from all the sweat and blood. Everything was spinning around me and the ground seemed like it was shaking. Groaning I sat down and put my head on my knees. He knows who I am. He knows how I look like. He knows where I work so possible knows where I live. I am not safe anymore... no where. While I was in my own world I heard faint sounds behind me but I didn't bother to look or run away. The footsteps got closer and I was pretty sure it was Walker's men. I should run. I should try to fight. But what's the point in trying to run away? He would eventually find me and if he has his way he would most likely kill me. If this is my fate then why am I trying to fight it? I felt someone harshly grab my waist and pull me up and I complied. They dragged me down the alley and into the busy street. Maybe I should just let it happen. Maybe I was destined to die alone as a no one. With that I let the darkness consume me.

"I love how this book is turning out!😍 Not cliche at all!" - i_hatecliche "We might live next door to each other," Haley said, "but we don't live in the same world." Hooking her fingers around her backpack straps, she walked away from Jace. She had barely gone a few steps before he was at her side again. "What makes you believe we don't live in the same world?" he asked. "As far as I can tell, we do." "No, we don't. I'm...me and you're Jace Cortez. The dream of every girl. The friend to every guy. The star of the school. Girls. Sports. You're the ultimate player." "It sounds like you have a preconceived notion of who I am." "And it's one that has yet to be proven wrong." From books and a lifetime of sitting on the sidelines, Haley is convinced she knows how the world works, specifically high school. Everyone has a label and a box they fit in. This knowledge, paired with parents who are fighting, a brother leaving soon for college and a best friend who moved away has made her decide to never get involved. It will take being forced to work with her fellow juniors on a project, a boy next door with a infectious smile, a star gazer with an adorable puppy, and an unlikely pair of fangirls to make her see how truly wrong she was about everything. "IT'S NOT CLICHÉ!!!" - Moria987 "This is the reason y I keep coming back to this book...It's simply a breathtaking journey" - mariyamsajorawala "I don't usually comment but this is one of the best books I've read here.
