With Carter failing English 1 and Hope excelling prominently never getting below an A. Mr Kindling decides to place Hope and Carter together for their senior year English project, believing it will benefit them both greatly.

"Would you like to dance?" the boy asks me. I stare deep into his blue eyes, but I can't figure out who he is. He's tall with dark hair and the brightest blue eyes I've ever seen.
