Aleksandra Belsky leads a pretty normal life. Immigrating from Russia when she was only two, Aleks lived her American life with her single mother. After leaving her abusive ex in her college town, she finds herself as a server at a high end restaurant in the big city, making amazing money and starting her life over all alone. But, when her ex shows up at her doorstep, she knows only one person that can help her.

Alexei Sokolov, born into the Sokolov Mafia empire in St. Petersburg, is now the right hand man to Volkov Enterprise. Every Friday night, the passive leader takes his top men to dinner. Though going for months on end, Aleks' manager assigns to care for them one night, and Alexei is instantly enthralled with her.

The night before the weekly dinner, Aleks is beaten to a pulp by the ex, and she needs to figure a way out. Luckily, Alexei notices something off about her night and offers her a safe haven.

Now engrossed in each other's lives, Aleks is sucked into the mafia world, and the Alexei's father appears in the Russian news again, both of their world's get turned upside down and back again. Chartering new love is one thing, but chartering new love in a world as cruel as theirs is a whole new game.
