In Hidden Knowledge, seven Words created the universe, but misused The Words can destroy everything. Each Word lets its Speaker rewrite a physical law in the area near them - for four hours. During that time, guardian monks from China quest to locate and kill the Speaker whose ignorance might unmake the earth. Logan and Endgame trap Eric and Violet at Gran's house, but Gran led them to the Cave of the Well Eric's dad's secret lab. But will they escape?

Previously, Eric Rock, a bookstore clerk in Portland, Oregon, learned the power word AmJukJa from his grandmother and it erased gravity around him, but, in San Francisco, he barely escapes an assassin monk while a friendly one teaches him a second power word, KadavRa, erasing weightlessness and then doubling his density with each repetition until bullets cannot hurt him, but now two groups, who know more of The Words than he does, hunt him and his friends.
