Over the years the FBI had gotten dozens of reports of strange things going on at Hawkins Laboratory. Though there was nothing conclusive the reports were deemed serious enough to send an agent out to look around and ask a few questions. When she runs into a young man named Henry, silently screaming for some sort of help, she knows she can't just leave him there alone in the hands of Dr. Brenner. Though she is warned about her decision to remove him from the facility under her jurisdiction as an FBI agent she has yet to realize the warning was for her own safety. Not for his.
