Melpomeni Asimi has spent the past four years believing herself to be a Squib. Having long since come to terms with the painful fact that she would never set foot in Hogwarts, her only plans for the future are to learn and practise medicine, following in her father's footsteps. Until one Summer, a Hogwarts Professor turns up at her family's house unannounced bearing an admittance letter with her name on it and begins teaching her magic--magic that she's suddenly able to cast, when up until then she had never exhibited so much as a HINT of magic. For two months, it seems as though her wildest dreams have suddenly come true...until she discovers that she possesses an ability to harness magic that's lain dormant for centuries, and promptly finds herself the quarry of both Ranrok--a dangerous goblin wielding powerful magic, and Victor Rookwood--one of the most dangerous criminals Britain has yet seen. With the help of Professor Fig, she embarks on a journey to discover the secret of why this magic has been hidden for so long, and keep it safe from Ranrok and Rookwood while somehow also keeping HERSELF safe...all while still attempting to squeeze five years' worth of a magical education into one.

[Also posted on AO3] Since that fateful night many months ago, you've been suffering beyond everyone's comprehension. When you're not plagued by horrific nightmares forcing you to relive the death of your beloved Professor Fig over and over again, you're trying to manage the ever growing concern that comes with honing Isidora's dark magic. Things only get worse when your best friend, Poppy, goes missing. At least you have Sebastian by your side for the journey. ___________ OR You and Sebastian get a lot of alone time over summer which welcomes many opportunities for some trauma bonding and maybe (just maybe) you might admit your feelings for one another.
