Blake Hemlock did what any decent vampire would do - he saved a boy from a burning house.

Cameron Holloway just wants everyone to leave him alone. He's used to his own company. He doesn't need anyone else.

He definitely doesn't want anyone looking at his scarred face - an injury sustained while he was a child. Who wants to see that, anyway? People only look at him with pity in their eyes when they see it ... something he really doesn't need.

So when Blake starts to follow him, telling Cameron that he's beautiful, that he wants to spend time with him and wants to date him, Cameron doesn't believe him. He's shocked that anyone would want to spend time with him.

And Cameron is especially shocked when he finds out one morning that Blake is a vampire.

Because he'd always believed that vampires didn't exist.
