Death takes, rarely does he ever give. 

In a small fae village, at the very end of the world, lives a girl plagued by the presence of Death. Lumeria would do anything to save her mother from the sickness that now wreaks havoc throughout her body. So when Lumeria sees Death standing at the end of her mothers bed, she decides to make a bargain with him. 

Her life, for her mothers.

One as old as Death isn't surprised by how humans choose to live and die. Not anymore. So when Fate leads him to Lumeria, a child of the fae, and the only person in the world who can see him in his true form. He begins to watch her as well. But when Lumeria tries to bargain with him for her mothers life, he refuses. 

Until she reaches out and touches him without dying. And the bond between them is sealed. 

The Dark One has abandoned the only thing in the world that mattered to him, in hopes of obtaining the mythical blade of prophecy: The Dagger of Thorns. In order to obtain untold power and immortality, he must kill the deity who sired him. But the closer he gets to his goal, the more obstacles stand in his way.
