Misaki longs to see the bright blue sky and the outside world. She's heard about the dancing flames, the stars that tell stories and the trees so high you can barely see the top, and the sweet smell of fresh air. She hopes she'll make it there someday, with Iris by her side. Iris was the person who told her this after all. Iris deserves to see it again.
What neither of them know, however, is that more years have passed then Iris thinks. Since she was taken, the blue was replaced with grey, the fresh, clear air replaced with grey. The stars' stories were blocked with grey. Because the world is much less colourful then you would think.

So Misaki sits longing.

Iris sits in despair for the beauty that was taken away, the beauty that will never come back.

The twins sit alone, waiting for the miracle they can call a true friend.

And the shadow of sadness sits inside all of them, grinning with victory.

This is the not-so-typical life of a not-so-typical leopard cub.

-I probably have to mention that this story has LGBTQ+ themes and characters. This also has moderate language so it's probably PG-13.
