Mercenary S.E. received an unexpected mission: to eliminate her long-lost sister.

Initially, it seemed like a straightforward task.

S.E. had been abandoned as a child, taken in by a merciless mercenary group, and shaped into a formidable weapon. Her life consisted of treading the perilous path between death-dealing and enduring her own wounds.

And then there was Khatia. She had everything-parents' love, a privileged upbringing, and an idyllic existence shielded from the world's harsh realities. Her innocence and idealistic nature starkly contrasted with S.E.'s hardened soul.

The gaping disparity between their lives tore at S.E.'s heart, and she believed that it would all come to an end by plunging her blade into Khatia's heart.

But S.E. hesitated.

In her moments of doubt, she uncovered a chilling truth-the mission itself was a treacherous snare, intricately designed to ensnare the two sisters.

Scarletstroke: Girl assassin" * No hesitation * No killing of children * No killing of innocent people * No emotions * And defenitely, NO falling in love ~ Those are the main rules code named Scarletstroke, former assassin Scarlett Gonzales lives by. She is a highly-trained, highly-precise and highly-dangerous killer who considers herself the same as any other businesswoman, doing 'just her job' and convincing herself that she is dealing with 'just her target' rather than a person. She succeeds in contract killing better than any known assassin that ever existed and successfully ignores all feelings or emotions, knowing that they tend to make the "job" not go as planned. So when a new contract comes in and the mark is a certain gang leader that caught Scarlett's eye, she couldn't resist venturing deeper into a world filled with illegal activities on a personal mission to find out why he has a price on his head. Although, what she finds in that world isn't quite what she expected. Now, torn between duty and passion, Scarlett must decide if she pulls the trigger or if she becomes the target herself? Who knows, maybe he might be the answer to her deepest desires. Because her next target: Cayden Carlisle. +++ The culprit took in a deep, calming breath. "You may as well shoot me now, but just know that I am still going to kiss you." By the time he grabbed her waist with one hand and her wrist, connecting to the hand holding the gun, with the other... she was lost. Completely gone. She never stood a chance. His smell, his mouth, his soft growling noises. They were more than enough to disarm her. "I finally figured something out about you." He whispered, pulling her closer, trying to meld every part of her to him. "You display all your emotions through body language. In this case, your hand is betraying your mask." Every word of his was chosen for maximum impact. No wasted syllables, no extra breaths. Just facts.

"Beckett thinks I like you," I announced. Oh my god, Lara! Shut up! My grip wavered as his hand came around my face, holding my cheek in his delicate touch. He brushed his thumb against my lower lip, his eyes averting back-and-forth between my eyes and lips. He ran his fingers up my abdomen, gliding it up my cleavage to my mouth. My hold on him softened until I completely let go-my hand falling limp in between us. My pulse throbbed in my wrist. He tilted my face up. "Do you?" My breathing picked up pace as I tried to concentrate on my feelings. His hands roamed about my body, leaving a trail of burning sensation to grow from his intoxicating touch. "Do you?" I countered. He smirked, his thumb grazing harder against my lips. He inched his face closer to mine. My heartbeat picked up pace. I didn't know what to do. My body froze as I tried to comprehend my next move. God! Why couldn't this be as easy as sparring? "I don't know, Lara," he said. He dipped his head low, and my eyes automatically fell shut. "Do I?" His lips crashed on mine. *** Lara Deadwings is a silver-blooded girl in a world full of red-bloods who won't accept her in the society. Book 1 of "Bloodlust" series. "I'm going to give you one chance to answer me. Where is she?" She asked, looking into my eyes. I looked back at her, terrified. "I swear that I don't know what you're talking about!" I answered, starting to shiver. She smiled wickedly. "You know, the only reason I sent my brother away was because I wanted to interrogate you myself. Whatever he would have done to you doesn't even begin to compare with what I'm going to do to you if you don't answer me. So... One more time. Where. Is. She?" She said, in a condescending tone, as if she was explaining something to a child. "Look, if you want to kill me go ahead. I don't know anything." I said, looking into her eyes and faking the confidence that I definitely didn't have. She looked at me, cocking her head to the side, and for a few seconds I though she wouldn't to anything. My relief didn't last though as she laughed coldly and looked at me with a half smile. Her laughter was beautiful, even though it sent shivers down my spine. It was the same with her eyes and smile. All of which showed me that she wasn't kidding. "Where did you get the necklace?" She asked. I froze, was that what that was all about? I didn't know! "I told you before, my dad left it to me, I swear." I said truthfully. She looked at me for a few seconds, thinking. I couldn't shake the feeling that everything about her was cold. "Well, even if you don't know anything, she'll come for you. And I will have the answers I want." She said with indifference before adding huskily in my ear. "And... I think we can have some fun together while you stay. Don't you agree?" She said as she laughed again and gave me her signature smile. Everything about her showed me that she wanted to hurt me and even more. She wanted me, in every way possible. Rated M(Mature content): Contains triggering content, read at your own risk.

~How deep can the darkness take you... before you lose your soul?~ "Tell me," she said, because the emptiness inside was yawning, stretching, consuming and she suddenly needed something, someone, needed to feel anything other than empty. She hated being empty. And she didn't want him to be empty either. She remembered that. It was like a film had been lifted from her eyes and as she looked down at him, she understood something. With other people, she didn't have to be human. Even with Thorn, he simply knew her. Andreas made her feel human. She didn't know how to be human, didn't know what it involved or what she should do. Humans were fragile, humans could be broken, and Sin was already broken enough. But she wasn't as broken as him. And maybe it was that fact that had her reaching for him, turning so she was laying on the bed beside him, stretching so she could wrap her arms around him and hold him close to her. Maybe it was that knowledge that made her want to protect him from the world. Because she'd thought the gods cruel only to her. She'd been wrong. So she closed her eyes and breathed him in, then breathed out, releasing everything inside her until she was simply... Sin. And she whispered into his hair, softly, five more impossible words. "I can hear you screaming." Dropped into an unknown, dangerous world and thrown together by chance, two people are now in a race for survival. One, a dark sorcerer with a haunted past and a deadly reputation, and the other, a cursed assassin with a chaotic soul. Both are powerful, domineering, and arrogant. Neither are team players. And yet, they'll have to work together if they want to get out alive... that is, if they manage not to kill each other first. (A collaboration/co-write by @Michillie and @Literacy101)

[IN NEED OF SERIOUS EDITING] This is a dual POV book. Sneak peek ;) "What are you doing here Ace?" I whispered. He took a step towards me. My breath hitched. "Victoria, you really thought I would let you get away with everything you planned? Just because your rotten little family died? God you people are so oblivious." I took a step back; his words were drenched in venom. "B-but... y-you...I" I choked on my own words. "Oh please, you really thought I was in love with you? It was my plan all along. To get into your pity group, find out your backstories, fall in love with you, find out your master plan and destroy it." Tears pricked my eyes, but I wouldn't let them fall. I wouldn't let him see me suffer. I wouldn't. Before I could process anything that had just come out of his mouth, he lunged at me.
