''Serendipity: finding interesting or valuable things by chance.'' Y/N and Carlos Sainz's paths briefly cross during the Monaco GP. Nothing happens, but it leaves an indelible impression on both. Months later, fate brings them together once again and they begin a clandestine journey of friendship and discovery. NOTES: - All the race results from today, July 7th, 2023, forwards are made up. Please don't be mad if they don't actually happen. - All the race dates for 2025 forwards are made up, but kinda based on when the race happened on previous years - Even though the entire story is written in English, please imagine that all dialogues between Carlos and Y/N are held in Spanish, unless there is a non spanish speaker with them. Same goes for her family: all dialogues in French. - There will be a song at the beginning of each chapter (spoiler: yes, one of the songs is ''Smooth Operator'' - IYKYK). There are only three songs that aren't in English, but you just have to look up the translation. - I will post one chapter every Monday, except on August 28th and if something important comes up (your girl is in grad school). - This is not a place for the hardcore FIA fans (JK hahahha) or old F1 fans that don't respect the newbies and think they know every single thing about F1 ... this is a fanfiction, so no need to get mad if I got some technical term wrong or something like that. I'm new to the sport, so please cut me some slack : ) - There will be some parts which are recycled from my previous stories, but I promise I did my best with the rest S2 - All the thyroid cancer is based on MY OWN experience with it (I'll be two years cancer-free this November 😀) - #1 in SPANIARD (August 1st, 2023) - #4 in CARLOSSAINZ (August 1st, 2023) - #5 in DTS (August 1st, 2023) - #6 in CLANDESTINE (August 11th, 2023)

They lived next to each other in Montreal. They grew up together. They went to same school, went to the same lake in the summer, and the same skating rink in the winter. They were best friends since they were in diapers, and they were completely inseparable. They did everything together. But then he went to Europe for racing, and she went to Nashville for her music career. Olivia Cortez is one of the most popular international acts in the western music industry. With chart-topping songs, best-selling albums, multiple awards and nominations to some of the most prestigious award shows, and an extremely large fan-base, there's no denying that she's genuinely one of the best at what she does. Lance Stroll, a racing prodigy, one of the youngest drivers on the grid, formerly driving for Williams Martini Racing and now moving to BWT Racing Point. As, the 2014 Italian F4 champion, the 2016 F3 Eurocup champion, the second youngest F1 driver to be on the podium, and the 2017 rookie of the year, doubting his abilities now would be useless. It's 2019, almost 5 years since he left, and nothing is the same anymore. They meant the world to each other as kids, but now? Now they were complete strangers. But when a twist of fate brings them together once again, will they have the courage to let each other back into their lives? Or will they push each other away, and once again become nothing more than just a faded memory. "The most painful part was when you left, and it broke me. It broke me in a way that I knew only you could fix. But the problem was, you still meant the world to me, but I was nothing more to you than a faded memory."
