Inexpiable (Jegulus)
James Potter, concerned about his best friend-Sirius Black-not responding to his letters, writes to Regulus Black in a moment of desperation. Ever since Sirius's escaped from his family, James cannot stop wondering if Regulus is alright now that he is alone. James tries to talk to Regulus when they return to Hogwarts, hoping to become closer to him. He knows he should not approach Regulus. He knows Regulus is his best friend's younger brother. He knows Sirius would be furious. But he also knows that the curiosity of the forbidden and the allure of secrets make him feel alive. Once actions are taken, they cannot be undone. "Things are really great they way they are at the moment, and I don't want to do anything to mess it up," Severus said slowly. He kept his head steady, eyes fixed out at a star low on the horizon.
