Feeling helpless to the state of Kara's mental health after witnessing their mother's suicide, her older sister Katherine accepts an offer from the one person they're supposed to hate.

The sisters make it their life's mission to leave behind a world of pain and they agree to use this newfound opportunity only for as long as they need to until they're stable enough to make it on their own- that is, until their new life becomes a little too enticing for one of the sisters. It's easy to forget all the ugliness when you're surrounded by so much beauty, glam and a man who treats you like a queen.
To Katherine, life was finally starting to look up! To Kara, the balance between suppressing the past traumas and trying to live in the present was a slippery slope. One wrong move could send her flying over the edge, falling to pieces.
It doesn't help that she starts to fall for the town's bad boy.
