Born a Kaunteya, from Surya's seed, and yet, raised as Radheya, amongst the sutas. He is Karna. The Dharmic and the greatest hero of Mahabharata. Ever righteous and kind, yet the strongest; even Arjuna had to win against him by deception. Always discriminated against, and never given justice.
Or maybe, a heinous villain? Who lied in his way to get more power, counselled Duryodhana to harm Pandavas and even ordered Draupadi's Vastraharan!!
One man and his many sides; some glorified, some hidden. Over 5000 years since Mahabharata's conception, his image has changed; maybe slowly but steadily. The modern audience has many misconceptions as to who the real Karna is, who lies beneath a facade of falsehoods. But we must try to dig deeper, and only time will tell if the real Karna will stand up or not!

When Karna departed to study under Parshuram, Adhirath and Radha let him go only on one condition: he leaves as a married man. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Within a week of marrying his childhood friend Vrushali, Karna leaves with the promise to return to his wife in exactly a year. Vrushali, Dushala's lady-in-waiting, watches the kalapradashan with a disinterested look. Her husband had promised to be back on this exact day. Two prahars until sunset. "Jiji, look!" Dushala jostles Vrushali out of her thoughts to point to the arena. A man with a grand bow stood tall, looking the Kuru Dynasty in the eye. Vrushali couldn't help the smile grace her face. Her husband was home. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Disclaimer: This work is pure fiction and just a thought and not to hurt any religious sentiments.
