A strange young woman, with a foggy history is stranded high up in the Night Court. The Inner Circle decides to check the situation. Upon arriving, it is more than odd that she survived the ice cold seawater. But the one thing that gives them the bigger interest is that this woman, Aurora, has shadows like Azriel. Trying to find out who she is and how she got those shadows, they take her back to Velaris. Azriel is intrigued by her appearance and her past. They discover a tragic and very dangerous thing about Aurora. She is cursed in a way no one has ever seen. She is more dangerous than anyone could've imagined. But she has shadows like Azriel.
