Where... was he?
He had died right? He sacrificed his life to make sure that Muzan's reign was over. Is he in the afterlife? He takes a whiff of the air and immediately retches. This is definitely not what the afterlife would smell like.

Tanjirou knew something was wrong the second the smell hit him, well two smells to be exact.He'd been stopped when he'd smelt something very distressing, it was a demon but there seemed to be another scent. It smelled of a human that seemed to be calm for the most part but was dangerously close to the former scent. On instinct Tanjirou immediately ran off into the nearby woods towards the scent with a million scenarios running through his mind. ---- "I tried to get him help but those guys just told me to give up on him! Now in the modern era, tanjiro is attempting to create a serum using his blood to make his demons walk under the sun. But he discovers the new hashiras of the now demon slayer are the same hashiras he met in the past. And that is when he gets worried, because he remembers their strength. But using whats left of his humanity to create a drug that will weaken him so much giving the slayers a chance to kill him. But most of his humanity is now gone.
