Asher sees himself as nothing but a monster on the brink of insanity. Wren sees Asher as an escape from her serene reality. She believes Asher is a broken boy looking for a chance to prove himself worthy of love.

"God Wren! What do you think you're doing here?!," Asher slams his fist into the concrete wall behind her. His chest heaved up and down due to the frantic movements it took to get her out of the pit.
"I told you not to come back here, you know how dangerous it is," his voice lowering, trying not to scare her. He stands so close to Wern that the mixture of sweat and his cologne fills her nose and sends a pulse right between her legs. Wren looks up into the hard green eyes that pierce straight back at her own. The eyes that she used to find comfort in, the eyes that she fell in love with.
Wren builds up the courage to speak but all that falls from her lips is a whisper.
"I couldn't help it, I had to know". Asher looks down at her lips and then back to her eyes, desperation on written on his face. He is asking for consent, Wren knows him inside out. She licks her lips and her eyes flick down to his. Asher grabs her waist before smashing his lips to hers.
