Almost thirty years have passed since the second Titan War. At least, that's what everyone keeps telling Bianca. She doesn't quite understand what the second Titan War is- or was, for that matter- or why it's important. Bianca doesn't understand a lot of things. For example: why she is just now realizing that her parents were demigods- children of the Greek gods themselves- and she's what people at camp call a "legacy." She also doesn't understand why her Aunt Piper practically tossed her into a car with two men she's never met and shipped her off to this aforementioned camp. A magic camp for descendants of the gods. Camp Half Blood. Bianca doesn't understand why everyone at Camp Half Blood seems to whisper under their breaths whenever she passes by.
