I'm Kayte (kay-tea) and ever since I was a little girl I've been a Peter Pan fan girl, been waiting since I was twelve to say those two words out of the window, out to those two stars hanging in the sky.
'Beep beep'
I look down at my clock and smile
I'm now sixteen
I lean out of the window, gazing out to the two brightest stars in the sky and whisper to myself
"I believe"

Tears streamed down my face as I sat on my bed. I could feel the bruises forming on my body. The blood trickling from the gash on my head. I sobbed softly into my knees. So my father didn't hear me. I couldn't take another beating. My window flew open from the gust of wind, blowing my curtains inside. I stood and walked to my window. A slip of paper laid on the sill. I opened it up 'Say you believe'. "I believe." I whispered. The room swirled around and everything fell to the ground. A black shadow appeared. It's eyes glowing at me. It reached its hand out for me. I took it and we flew out the window. I screamed as I looked to the ground below us. We flew higher and higher. A flash of white blinding light. Mermaids, beaches, fairies! this place is awesome. someone then snatched the book out my hands. "Mermaids? what is this crap?" I looked up to see Cynthia and her clique. "why do you carry this thing around with you all the time?" I stood up and held out my hand. "give it back." "why? it's not like you can read it, you're stupid." Lost Girl
The shadow took me high into the sky, flying upwards. Suddenly I felt myself go through a portal, it was unexpected, but I kept going. Out of the Enchanted Forest. When we came through, I strained my eyes to see through the mist that remained from the portal. But when it cleared, I saw a beautiful island, green, lush, huge. I filled with unexplainable dread. I knew that my suspicions had just been confirmed, this was Neverland, and I was flying with the shadow of the demon boy, Peter Pan. The shadow slowly descended towards a clearing that laid amidst the large amount of greenery. I followed and soon we touched ground. I found myself surrounded by dozens of teenage boys and found the shadow was gone. Lost Boys. A/N ~ This is my first book and therefore not the best example of my current style, but it was the first book I ever published here so I want to keep it public as a little reminder.
