"Jenna, " she started off. "Remember Alex? Your best friend?" She paused. Tingles fell through my body.
Alex Sanders was my best friend. We did every single thing together. We went to beaches, gyms, school, everything. We talked about stuff and watched our fav Tom And Jerry movie, and pretended to be pirates on his sofa. We played Wii Sports, Golf, and we would slide down his dark sofas recline. We were unbreakable. Literally. We would do the most silliest things. I would force him to play dolls with me for 30 minutes, then we would play soccer. Sleepovers happened twice a month. But the worst thing happened. Alex moved to California in grade 5.And I never saw him again.
At first we would email, text, everything. But sooner my grades and his got higher, so we didn't have much time to text or FaceTime. And as I matured, I created more friends too. But Alex is my best friend, like my brother, and he has a soft spot in my heart. "Yes, " i softly replied, looking at my nails.

Growing up in a large, middle-class (if not lower) family had its challenges. More than I can account for actually. I had five older sisters and two older brothers. I feel like I hit a bit of a brick wall. I love this story, it was the first time I started writing for me and not for school. I was getting some major writer's block when it came to this story which felt weird because the creative juices had been flowing up to this point. I love this story and the characters and I finally realised that any writing I tried to force out would be really bad quality and that it could ruin the story. I do realise that this is very frustrating; I would be annoyed if someone did it to me. But I really think that in this case, less is more. I may come back to this story one day, but I make no promises. I feel like my time with Liam and Saskia has come to an end. They can enjoy their summer in peace!
