This small, orange-colored fruit is native to the Andean region of South America, where it is widely cultivated and consumed. The name naranjilla means "little orange" in Spanish, but don't let that fool you. The naranjilla fruit has a very different flavor from an orange, and is more related to the eggplant and tomato family.
