"Happy day... Happy years... Happy holidays... I can finally rest! The school year had finally come to an end, and with it came the promise of two glorious months of freedom. A group of friends, exhilarated by the prospect of endless possibilities, began eagerly making plans. They dreamed of adventures and escapades, of doing anything and everything their hearts desired. Beaches, road trips, late-night hangouts, and spontaneous outings-nothing was off the table. The excitement was palpable, and their imaginations ran wild with all the fun that lay ahead. But life, as it often does, had other plans. Just as their excitement reached a fever pitch, strange and unsettling things began to occur. It started small, with a creeping sense of unease that none of them could quite put their finger on. Odd occurrences and eerie coincidences began to shadow their every move. They found themselves looking over their shoulders, feeling watched, as if unseen eyes followed them wherever they went. Then, the news broke. It was the kind of news that sends shockwaves through a community, the kind that changes everything in an instant. There had been a murder, a gruesome and inexplicable crime that left everyone on edge. The investigation was intense, with police scouring for clues and answers, but the fear lingered. For these friends, the carefree summer they had envisioned seemed to slip further out of reach with each passing day.

Finding Ford

Jas gives me a sympathetic look. She sighs heavily, long nails tapping against the wooden table, dodging the 'Missing' posters scattered all over the surface. "Maybe," she finally says, "Just maybe, he doesn't want to be found, Ava." I clench my jaw. "No. I refuse to believe that. He's not like that." "What do you know?" Jas snorts, finally withdrawing her hand from the table and turning back to look at me. "You don't even know him." xx Ford Wilson was in three out of four of Ava Jackson's classes. They had one mutual friend, did a project together once in sophomore year, and had the same lunch. When Ava's car had broke down, she had even ended up parked outside of Ford's house, asking for gas. In Ava's life, he was everywhere. And yet, she didn't notice him until he was nowhere to be found.
