After the 2027 Climate Change Disaster that made almost the entire world uninhabitable, human life changed forever. Thanks to the greatest minds of the century reunited in segragation to come up with a way to save the planet, new, sustainable forms of energy were invented and soon applied to the lifestyle of those who survived the apocalypse. Futuristic and eco-friendly cities were born from the ashes of the old, polluted ones, faster and cleaner means of transport replaced the unsafe petrol powered engines, greenhouses and zoos were built in order to repopulate the wild with endangered animals. But, of course, humans still being humans, made all these goods private, accessible only through money and power. Only the top 21% of the population, that held in its hands the 87% of the total world wealth could live in the luxurious, clean, rebuilt metropolis, drive the save and comfortable hydrogen powered cars, eat the delicious and rare vegetables grown in the greenhouses and the artificial produced meat. But, what about the remaining 79% of the inhabitants of this new utopian world? Well, all that glitters is not gold. The rest of the population lived just outside the new cities, breathing the still polluted and unsafe air that clouded the sky and shortened their lifespan drastically. They settled down in the few old houses that were still standing after the disaster. They sustained themeselves through the scraps of the old world and the waste the new way of living of the rich still produced. These people were considered nothing but animals by those at the top, and no help would ever find its way to them. And so, they lived their lives in poverty, dreaming of the day the world will once again change, maybe this time for the best. All Rights Reserved
