His father's death changes things more than Kasey could ever have imagined.

No more family dinners, no more grandiose displays of wealth, and no more easy, mindless living.

Mother uproots them, drives them clear across the country and settles them in LangeVille, a little redneck town that couldn't be further from his home back in Arizona.

Adrien, brash and impulsive as they come, has never had to feel empathy for anyone. He takes his days one and at time, with little regard for his future, or past. To him, Kasey's nothing more than a rich weirdo with too much to say.

At least, at first.

At first glance, they're almost polar opposites, but something constantly pulls Kasey back to Adrien, something that Adrien doesn't quite know how to push away.

They're both alone, and neither seems to grasp the futility of trying to stay that way.
