Nathaniel Carter's moved to a new town. His father died a year ago and since then he's been moving from town to town, his family not having enough money to stay in the same place. Eventually, they settle in a new town, and desperate to help his mother get money, he starts to do bad things. Eventually he's in too deep and he needs help, but he doesn't know who he can turn to.

Olivia Johnson is the most popular girl in her school. Everyone loves her, everyone wants to be her. Neglected by her parents, all her friends just using her for attention, Olivia grows closer to Nathan and soon they're so close they tell each other everything.
